I Love your work it captures home perfectly. The colours, the in-perfect but perfect shapes of Scotland and the rolling hills. Like i said its HOME.

Just trying to work out where you took this photo of the Wallace monument from, bye the way I love it, I come from Bannockburn originally and have never seen the WM from this angle before

Location
The photo is of the National Monument of Scotland, which celebrates the life of William Wallace, taken from the banks of the River Forth near Stirling.Time
The shot was taken about 20 mins before sunrise, at the point where the sky was just starting to colour up.Lighting
I felt that the unusual pinkish hue of the sky added a sense of drama.Equipment
Canon EOS 5D Mk iii, Canon EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM, Tripod.Inspiration
To be perfectly honest, I looked at the scene and thought "Hmm - that'll go" and that was about it.Editing
HDR processing of 3 images @ ±2EV with Photomatix Pro, followed by additional processing in Photoshop CS5.In my camera bag
Canon EOS 5D Mk iii and Canon EOS 7D bodies; Canon EF17-40mm f/4L USM lens, Canon EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens, Canon EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens; a variety of hard/soft grad ND filters.Feedback
Simple: get to wherever you want to be about an hour before sunrise and then wait. Sometimes something magical will materialise, sometimes it won't, but you can maximise your chances of success by checking the weather forecast beforehand, and having a good idea of the direction of the sunrise.
