Location
Took this on a country road in a small South Carolina town called, Due West.Time
Taken on our return trip from an eye Dr's app't, around 10 AM. Brought my camera with me, hoping to capture a image of the foggy morning.Lighting
Love the light on a foggy day with the sun trying to break through the clouds. the light was great, without shadows and heavy contrasts and the winter trees without their leaves added to the mood. The sun would have been to the left side of this image, if it was shinning.Equipment
I used my Nikon D90 for this image.with a 18-140 mm lens. Hand held and shot through the car window.Inspiration
I always try to get photos when there is fog in the morning, creates such a mysterious mood. Living in a rural area does proved quite a few of these opportunities.Editing
I did my editing in Picmonkey. Brighten the image, darken some of the places around the edge of road, where it meets the grass with a makeup tool, called mascara, also used it on the fence post. Great tool for accenting small lines. Also added a bit of a pink tint to the sky.In my camera bag
My new camera is a Nikon D7100, always in my bag with the 18-140 mm lens on. Extra lens includes: Nikon 70-300 mm and a Tamron wide angle 10-24 mm lens.Feedback
When trying to capture fog, I like to have something in focus in the foreground and something that can be seen through the fog in background.
