My wife and I had just been to the top of the new world trade centre, it is incredible at the top, the skies had cleared and you could see for miles, it was approx midday when we got back downLighting
Once at the bottom and looking up I realised the clouds had come back in, giving the tower a more dramatic look, it was very moody and I knew what shot I wanted I already knew it needed to be converted to black and whiteEquipment
EOS600D Hand held using a sigma 10-20mm lenseInspiration
At the bottom with clouds swirling and from the right angle the tower appears to go on forever , which for me signifies the whole point of it- the clouds helped provide thisEditing
Slight cropping and converted to black and white which gives it a bit more drama, I tweaked levels and curves. The original image did very little for me in colour. In my camera bag

I feel I got a bit lucky with the weather and clouds, but getting out to places before and seeing which angles work or don't work, it really depends what you are wanting from the image, I dont I needed anything else in this image as it tells its own story
