This was one of the top 3 in my "The Night Sky" photo challenge. The reason it was not chosen as the winner is because I felt that it was lacking strong color contrast. Also, while it is great that you got a large portion of a condensed group of stars (therefore giving it a strong focal point); I really would have liked to have seen more of what appears to be a city at the bottom of the picture. With more of the city and what appears to be storm clouds this picture would have more context as to what is going on in a very interesting part of the picture. I also liked that while the city and storm clouds were interesting they were dark enough that my eye was not drawn away from the stars and to the bottom of the picture before I was able to really look at the stars.
