Behind The Lens

Location
The place is called The Beech Avenue, Kingston Lacy in Dorset ,UK. The avenue was a birthday gift from William John Bankes to his mother, Frances, and there were 365 trees on one side of the road for each day of the year and 366 on the other, for a leap year.
Time
It was Sunday early morning, I think it's the best time to take a photo at this location as the road is very busy usually.
Lighting
Unfortunately, the light wasn't the best that day , the sky was covered with grey clouds but even without the sunlight road still looks spectacular .
Equipment
I use Nikon D7100, it`s the only camera I own. In this case, I used telephoto lens Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 DG. Tripod Giottos Silk Road 2-way classic.
Inspiration
I was actually driving home from night shooting Corfe Castle - the main subject of my photography trip to Dorset. Beech Avenue was on my way back to Somerset and I always wanted to take a photo of that beautiful road and trees.
Editing
I always post-process my photos to transform from what was captured in a camera either to be closer to what my eyes saw or to alter the image artistically. I use only Lightroom and Photoshop CC + NIK Collection occasionally. It was beginning of Autumn and I was really hoping to capture some colours of the trees but leaves were still green , a bit disappointing but I managed to change colours to more Autumny look. Not quite satisfied because I would have preferred to capture these colours naturally which I hoping to do it this year.
In my camera bag
To carry my equipment I use Lowepro backpack. What inside? Not that much to be honest. Usually three lenses: Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX II - best for landscapes (apparently best wide angle lens for Nikon D7100), Nikon AF-S 35mm f/1.8G DX - good for low light conditions and landscape panoramic photos in my case, Nikkor AFS DX 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6G VR - very useful in the forest and woods, Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 DG Macro - also useful for landscapes and close-up photography as well. Other gear: a set of Formatt Hitech filters, Hoya polarizer, basic LCD timer remote shutter, two spare camera batteries, microfiber cleaning clothes, battery grip and Yongnuo flashlight if planning night shots.
Feedback
Best to capture scenery like that is to use long focal length or telephoto lens. A lens of long focal length seems to bring things closer, just as a telescope does. As the focal length gets longer, less of the scene is shown (the angle of view narrows), but what is shown is enlarged (the magnification increases). Keep in mind that if you use 100mm lens or longer your depth of field is not as great as 16mm wide angle lens. You can control your DoF narrowing aperture or changing distance from subject you focusing on. Think about safety, don`t stand in the middle of the road especially when traffic too heavy. You can take a very nice photo standing on the side of the road or you can find nicely aligned trees on the forest trail or countryside road.
