Location
This photo was taken on quick trip to Bruges Belgium. I was a bit disappointed because it was rainy most of the time but the wet surfaces and low clouds made for some interesting photos.Time
This photo like most that I take was in the evening. I find it much easier to stay up and take evening and nigh shots than to get up early for Sunrise.Lighting
The lighting for this image came mostly from the city lights but the long exposure and a steady tripod was really the trick to this photo.Equipment
For this image I used a Nikon D7000 with a Nikon 18-300 mm lens. I use a Manfrotto tripod and Really Right Stuff ball head for just about everything. The big 18-300 lens is my main lens for just walking around a city.Inspiration
This scene tell had all the elements I was looking for from the water, bridge and old buildings to the tall spite of the church.Editing
For this image I compiled set of bracketed images in Photomatix to get the HDR and then some clean up in Phitoshop. I used the Nik color efex to add the final touchIn my camera bag
My bag always has the same things: my Nikon D7000, Nikkor 18-300 mm and Tokina 11-16 mm lenses. For accessories I carry polarizer and ND filters as well as a lens blower and lens cloth. I hate removing dust spots in post!Feedback
My recipe is pretty simple. Take a few bracketed exposures to give me flexibility and then tinker. I usually see how HDR looks and then decide if it adds anything. Next I use the multiple exposures to help remove people, cars, etc... And then work to ge the color he way I want.
