This photo was taken from the comfort of my own backyard in Indiana. It wa the perfect night for the perfect shot.Time
It was a chilly March night when the moon was high, but not too high and the sky was clear.Lighting
It was dark and Luna provides her own light that can be too bright and drown out the details in a photo. Therefore I had to mess around with the ISO and aperture until I found the perfect combo.Equipment
I just used a point and shoot with my Canon EOS REBEL T5 and I used the 55-250mm lens zoomed in.Inspiration
Definitely Luna! I am always inspired by the moon. I'm honestly drawn to her. A moon child if you will. I often go out with my camera when she is out, day or night. I wanted to bring her beauty into my home.Editing
The moon is far away and even using my basic lens zoomed in doesn't get close enough. So cropping to size her up and just some basic editing to bring down the brightness and pull out the details.In my camera bag
I always have my Canon (now have a T6) with my 75-300mm, 55-250mm, 18-55mm and 10-18mm wide angle lenses. You Benner know what you're going to come across and what lens you'll need. I also carry the charger, extra batteries, extra memory cards, cloth to clean the lense, a tripod, and weather proof protection gear.Feedback
Don't use the auto mode. Mess around with the manual settings. The aperture and ISO until you get the right setting. While I have gotten detailed shots of full moons, it's harder because of the brightness. So try for a half moon or a paper thin cloud cover drowns out the brightened too. Just keep trying until you get it!
