Location
I took this photo at Battle of Pilot Knob State Historic Park in Pilot Knob, Mo.Time
It was a little after 9 a.m. when I came upon this picket line of horses while I wandering through the Confederate encampment at the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Pilot Knob re-enactment.Lighting
The mid morning light was very nicely filtered by the large pine trees where the horses were tied.Equipment
I was using my Fuji Film HS 50EXR Bridge camera and used no other equipment to capture this shot.Inspiration
The combination of the lighting, the horses and the tents in background gave this scene a very authentic feel that made me want to preserve this moment.Editing
I used Adobe Lightroom to pull down some of the highlights and bump up the shadows. This also what I used to change the image to sepia. In my camera bag
I always carry my Fuji Film HS 50EXR, Nikon D5500, an off camera flash, various lenses and lens filters, six memory cards, four sets of batteries for each camera, cleaning cloth, squeeze bulb duster, business cards, notepad and ink pen, snacks and water.Feedback
