This particular Avro Lancaster is sitting nestled in a hangar at a museum in Nanton Alberta Canada. I have pulled it out of the background and put it back in the sky where an airplane belongs. These aircraft flew against targets in Germany, usually at night without escort. RAF Bomber Command suffered 45% casualties during WWII or 55,573 men killed during the bombing campaign. My uncle Ronny was one of them. We need to never forget their sacrifice.
