I know how it feels. I had a bumble Bee running around on me at the zoo. I had just a moment while he hovered to grab 3 quick shots. I am sure it was quite comical to those standing around watching me bob and weave, in and out, & up-and-down. I'm waiting to see me I'm one of those shows of funniest videos with me trying to capture this shot. Of course, they could not see from their distance what I was actually doing. So I truly understand the frustration and comedical adventure of trying to capture a photo of the small critters in our lives. Excellent Photo and best wishes on your contest.

Location
This photo was taken at my home in Lexington, Ky. I often buy flowers from the local farmer's market to bring home and practice my photography. As I was zooming in on the petals, this little friend flew in. My aim was for the water drops after recently watering the flowers and I got a bonus!Time
It was a beautiful, sunny Saturday afternoon in Central Ky. The afternoon light on my deck is always great for photos. I don't believe there was a cloud in the sky on this day.Lighting
On a sunny day, I like to capture my photos just after 2pm. I find the light on my deck is best for photography of flowers and insects. I don't like to use a flash, if I don't have to, and on this day, I didn't have one.Equipment
This was shot on an iPhone 5s with an OlloClip macro lens at very close range. My iphone and OlloClip are what started my journey with photography. I have since upgraded to a Canon T5i and purchased a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens. I didn't use a flash and I only prayed that he didn't fly away as I was trying to capture the shot!Inspiration
Tiny details of flowers and insects fascinate me. Even though I didn't know this little friend would show up at this particular moment, I'm always searching out our insect friends on flowers and plants. I was aiming for the water drops on the petals and he showed up.Editing
The only post-processing was done in Photoshop. I opened the file and increased the clarity a bit to sharpen the image. No other edits were made.In my camera bag
Right now, I have my Canon T5i, my EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens, my 18-55mm lens and I never leave home without my iPhone and an OlloClip macro set.Feedback
Don't be afraid to go in for the really close-up shot. What's going on at the tiniest portion of an object is sometimes the best thing about it! Look in the center of flowers. Most of the time you will find a hidden treasure. And you might not see it until post-processing. It's always a pleasant surprise to discover nature in this way.
