When I was growing up in the hills of Kigezi in SW Uganda, there were no blue petunias anywhere. In recent years, I started noticing them growing wild in the roadside thickets around the town of Kabale. They do not appear in the countryside, which would suggest that they are not native to the area. The seed may have been planted by a European expatriate or missionary and then become scattered around Kabale, now blue with petunias and still spreading!
