There’s a little point of land on the south side of the Barnstable Marina entrance from the main area of Barnstable Harbor, a natural harbor protected from Cape Cod Bay by Sandy Neck. That’s where this image was taken from – and the view is towards Freezer Point on the north side of the marina entrance. In the distance across the harbor are the low dunes of Sandy Neck.
It was the end of a crisp fall day, the colors were beautiful muted tones of teal in the water contrasting beautifully with the warm light on the dying seasonal grasses and reeds and the last vestiges of the sun’s rays on the homes over at Freezer Point. The sky was a slightly hazy light soft tealish grey with a slight brownish tinge toward the horizon. Just a very “Cape Cod” image…
