Location
I took this photo in my backyard under the backyard pergola. I live on the gold coast in South East Queensland, Australia.
Time
Around 1-2pm
Lighting
All lighting in this shot is naturally. I shot it under a pergola so the natural lighting (sun) wasn't too harsh. I prefer to shoot without a flash outside.
Equipment
Shot on a Canon 60D 18-55mm Sigma Lens. 2.8 - 4.5. No other equipment was used

Inspiration
There is minority of people in Australia that are against immigrants and certain religious groups. I called this "misconception" because we all create misconceptions or judge people based on what they wear or look like.

Editing
A little brightness, contrast, sharpness and colour correction in photo fx and photoshop
In my camera bag
My trusty Sigma lens and my nifty fifty (Canon 50mm) They are just perfect for picking up the DSLR and shooting some candid or street photography.

Feedback
Obviously with portraits you need good lighting if shooting outside. I usually pick an overcast day and mid to late afternoon. It just gives less shadows and not as harsh lighting than say middle of the day. Photographers can sometimes take a lot of shots to get a decent or perfect shot. Don't think too hard about anything. Just shoot it.
