I've been sitting on this photo for nearly a year now but finally processed it.
After arriving to Paradise Lodge at Mt Rainier in the evening to shoot the sunset a quick thunderstorm began to boom over the mountain and left behind a trail of convective debris in the sky. After seeing the clearing to the west as the thunderstorm died off the sky began to light up so I quickly ran uphill along the skyline trail to find the beautiful alpine Paradise meadows. Once I got up to the clearing two deer crossing the trail stopped me in my tracks and forced me to setup really quickly as they walked gingerly through the meadow, luckily I was able to take a few shots with them in the meadow before they ran off. A day that I will likely remember for the rest of my life and feels like a dream as I was in the right place at the right time.
