Terceira Island is blessed with amazing bio-diversity that was brought about by its volcanic history. By the time humans arrived on the island, it already contained many indigenous species of plants. One species brought to the island by man are these Japanese Cedars (cryptomeria japonica). These trees were planted on the island to provide a source of lumber for the island’s inhabitants.

Edited with Adobe Lightroom 6 and Photoshop CC 2015.

I apologize because all I seem to complemented was DeForest, but clearly the photographer behind the lens had a lot to do with the way it was portrayed. You are very talented and have a natural ability that I am very jealous of :)
