Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Enisala Citadel, Tulcea County, Romania.

Time

The photo was taken during night time.

Lighting

The idea behind the photo was to create something unique using cake fireworks. And so, this vortex was the best idea, like a portal for traveling through to find old times.

Equipment

My equipment was Nikon D5100 + 18-55mm kit lens @ 18mm, no flash. Of course, for this long exposure i used a tripod.

Inspiration

The biggest inspiration was the citadel itself. The entire landscape there makes you feel the emotion of those old times.

Editing

Of course, some post-processing was needed. Some basic exposure corrections, lens profile correction.

In my camera bag

I own a Nikon D7100 and a Nikon D5100 body camera, Yongnuo YN568ex flash, and following lenses: 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 kit lens, 55-200mm f4-5.6, 50mm f1.8 prime lens, 35mm f1.8 prime lens, Samyang 8mm f3.5 cs fisheye lens, Helios 58mm 44/2 m42 mount, Industar 50mm f3.5 m42 mount, adapter for m42, cleaning kit.

Feedback

Any creative idea can be done. For this king of technique, tripod is a must, any camera with manual settings, i recommend wide angle lens and the most important: the location.
