This is the best photo of Monument Valley I have ever seen. And I live in Arizona! Thank you for brightening my evening.

Location
Took this photo in January of 2015 whilst travelling the USA with my girlfriend ( who became my wife whilst on the trip ) We did an overnighter at The View there in Monument Valley. Setting the alarm for a wake up prior to sunrise, we were delighted and amazed at the sight that slowly unfolded before our eyes. Having seen monument Valley in numerous cowboy movies during my childhood, this was a 'dream come true' to be here.Time
Sunrise!Lighting
Sunrise at Monument Valley, what a wonderful experience.Equipment
I have a Nikon D7100 using a Tamron 18-200mm lens.Inspiration
My inspiration for taking this photo? This was a 'dream come true' and something I thought would be a once in a lifetime opportunity as I am from Perth in Australia, however, I was lucky enough to return to Monument Valley in June of 2016 whilst riding Route 66 ( a slight detour ) with my wife and 2 American friends. They had not been there, so I insisted they go. They too loved the experience.Editing
My only post processing was to crop the photo. In my camera bag
As a traveller, I carry minimal equipment, just the camera itself. My last trip in the US was done on a motorbike, approx 11,000 Miles / 17,000 Kilometres so space is of a premium.Feedback
Unfortunately I am not a 'technically minded person' so I don't get caught up in the specifics of lighting, camera settings etc. I usually fumble my way through my camera on a yearly basis as that's when I get into photography when I am on leave. I love that people have liked this photo and was surprised and honoured to be a finalist in this competition. I am in awe of the many great photographers on this site! I need to do a photography course to help me understand it much better. "One day....."
