Any kind of wildlife is inspiration enough for me. I was on my way back to my campground when I spotted a small bird perched on the barbed wire. Unsure of the species, I stopped and rested the lens on a beanbag for a closer look. The ID was quickly solved when a parent Scissortail Flycatcher landed beside the fledgling with an insect in its beak. It was a rare moment. Clean background, warm light, and peak action.Editing
Sharpening, levels adjustment, added catch lights. In my camera bag
My equipment has changed since taking this photo. I now have a Sony a77, Sony a77II, Sony 70-400 G, Sony 18-250, Tamron 150-600, Tokina 100 macro, and I still have the monster lens, the white Minolta 600 4.0 lovingly known as Moby Dick.Feedback
Best advice is be ready for anything. Have everything you need close by and preset if unexpected photo opportunities should arise. And with wildlife, many photo ops are indeed, unexpected.
