Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken onboard a cruise boat "Fantasy"

Time

This was taken mid morning with Sunny skies

Lighting

There was no lighting used during the shoot except for reflectors

Equipment

I used both a Canon 6D and Canon 1DX with a 24-70mm and 70-20mm

Inspiration

I thought shooting down on the subject using the stairs would create a nice shot and this was the result

Editing

Yes, i smoothed and blended the skin tones before using a B&W filter, i also worked on the light and shadows to get a slight glow in the skin tone and shot.

In my camera bag

At present i have a Canon 5DSr, Canon 1DX. my lenses consist of Canon: 11-24mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm with X2 extender, 100mm Macro, 8-15mm Fisheye. Gitzo tripod and mono, both with Gitzo heads.

Feedback

Just make sure you have all your settings sorted for the shot and take your time to get the shot in the frame the way you want it. Talk with the model to get the pose and look the way you planned. Communication between the photographer and the model is key in all shots as it a team effort.
