Originally, the picture was taken in color, no other lighting equipment was used.Equipment
Camera is a Nikon D3200, lens was the Nikor 18-55 lens that came in the kit. No tripod was used, it was taken free hand.Inspiration
When I took the picture originally, the hood was down. I raised the hood and the scene told me to take the picture like that.Editing
I did some post-processing to get the whites, blacks, and shadows where I liked, then converted it to black and white.In my camera bag
I usually have my Nikon D3200, 55-200 Nikor lens, a polarized lens, and a UV filter. I also have a small gorilla pod type of tripod, along with a blue tooth, timer remote for light painting.Feedback
Just let your eyes be your guide, think outside the box, use other ideas for inspiration and just run with it. Try something different, raise the hood after taking one picture and see what it looks like.
