Very nicely done, Vivian. A critique is usually aimed at understanding the photograph rather than an emotional reaction to the subject, so in that way i appreciate that you have made several compositional decissions in your choice of subject, lighting, camera angle, even the type of camera and lens. You have achieved an integrated idea and presented it well.. I have looked through your other photos and find the same thoughtful visual ideas. That is not all that common in people's photographs and so I encourage you to keep going and look to your design heritage in painting as a guide. people have been thinking about how they make images from the world around them for thousands of years.
