The dark background makes the flower assume a position of power. The overhead light does an excellent job of showing the surface detail of the petals. Nice dynamic range - powerful for a flower image.

Thank you :) This was taken during a very challenging photo walk. We rode the city train and got off at every stop. We had to take photos until the next train came by (10 mins). It was challenging to find subjects and shoot quickly.
