Location
We drove all the way to a grassland near Shrirangapattna which is 130 odd kms from the Karnataka’s Capital Bangalore which is one of the famous migration path of this beautiful bird (Blue-tailed Bee Eater).Time
Blue-tailed Bee Eater's are usually seen roosting communally in large numbers. The birds move really quick at the roosting site and are very difficult to capture them in flight. This behavior is generally observed early hours of dawn and before dusk. This image was made around 7 am, just after sunrise.Lighting
I have tried to use the natural early morning light to capture these beauties in action. More than light, it was patience what mattered most here. I have waited and waited until I understood their behavior.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon EOS 60D, Canon 300mm f4 lens mounted on a tripod.Inspiration
I love shooting birds as they fascinate me the most. Its real fun and gives me ample satisfaction capturing these amazing creatures in action.Editing
Not much post-processing was involved. A very little contrast and brightness was adjusted. In my camera bag
I carry my Canon EOS 60D, Canon 300mm f4 and a Canon 100mm f/2.8LFeedback
Understanding the subject's behavior is the major aspect to capture images like this.
