This bronze statue is from where I work. It is waiting to be placed at the 9-11 monument that is being built in our town. I was a volunteer EMT in upstate NY when 9-11 happened. Our department along with many from all over the United States and from Canada, sent ambulances and fire trucks with volunteers to NYC to help. The fire service is a brotherhood-sisterhood that can never be broken. We will never forget FDNY 343.

Nice photograph. Good detail.

When I first saw this, I was thinking this would look cool on a firefighting website's 404 page. Just change the number. Have a seen from the movie backdraft behind the statue.

No matter what one politically believes about the Twin Towers attack, this is an excellent monument to the men and women who helped in the aftermath. Regardless if it was domestic or foreign, those fighting the fires, searching for potential survivors, etcetera, had nothing to do with the plot and are heroes nonetheless. None of them definitively knew it was a terrorist attack at the time and deserve to be honoured.
