This shot was taken at one of the few little gems on the outskirts of London, just a stonesthrow from the M25. I'm constantly amazed at how much wildlife there is available to photograph next to one of Europe's busiest roads.Time
I captured this photograph early in the day, during a dog walk.Lighting
I was lucky to get the subject so close to some light rays passing through a large tree. I sometimes think it may have been better of the young deer had stepped forward into the light, but in many ways it turned out better just the way it is.Equipment
This shot was taken on a Nikon D810, handheld with a Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 lens.Inspiration
Just getting up and being out there in the best part of the day when no-one else is around. You cannot beat it!!Editing
Just a crop, convert to B&W. I decided not to lift the shadows too much, whcih I think produced a better result.In my camera bag
For wildlife shoots I now have my D810 and a Nikon 200-500mm lens. I quite often run about with a tripod and a remote shutter release to make the absolute best of things.Feedback
