Like the muted colors in this image and plants in the foreground... Helps define the space nicely.

Location
I am amateur photographer who took this photo during a visit to Sri Lanka's famous irrigation reservoir at Rajangana in North Western Province of Sri Lanka. The vantage point was at the left abutment (of earth dam) which is a hillock.Time
It was around 5.30 PM in when I visited the location. I looked at the horizon which the sunset was on. I lied on the rocky hillock and took the photograph while focusing the foreground and distant landscape.Lighting
The beautiful orange lighting illuminating the foreground and the distant landscape was considered. This shot was taken using my Canon EF 17-40 mm wide angle zoom. I was more concerned about the perspective and composition while considering the details in the foreground. The shot was a hand held shot. Used aperture priority when shooting this photo, so that I did not have any issue on the lighting condition, as reasonably good lighting situation was prevailingEquipment
I think I used Canon EOS 6D with EF 17-40 mm zoom lens was used.Inspiration
I liked the orange lighting condition and beautiful & natural landscape and paddy fields downstream of Rajangana reservoir.Editing
I used Adobe Lightroom to adjust the white Balance, slight improvement of exposure. I did not want to change the original settings much.In my camera bag
Currently I have Canon 5D MK1V with Canon EF 16-35 mm zoom, Sigma 150-600mm Telephoto Lens, Canon EF 100 mm Macro LensFeedback
He or she needs to be there at the right time. Prior planning is essential. Once reach the location, he or she needs to look at the best vantage point and should consider the details in the foreground and distant landscape. Minimalistic approach may be an advantage. Other thing, capturing the seen just above the ground may give a better perspective and dramatic picture. Take many shots, so that one would be a great picture.
