So I was walking along one of the more shaded trails when I rounded a bush on the path and came across this black bear relaxing in a pool of water that had formed in a indentation just off the path. Bears don't have sweat glands so they will seek water to sit in to cool off. Given the high temperatures of late and the lack of rain, the bear was making the most out of the appearance of this little pool. I think it would have been better in my backyard because I would at least have had the safety of my sliding glass doorl lol vs being on the trail. I hoofed it out of there as quickly as I could without upsetting the bear any more.
