I live in a barn and have a home studio. I use the barn loft for the studio since it has very high ceilings for a lighting boom.Time
In the evening. I have skylights in my home studio which are a blessing and a curse. They are great for natural lighting but mess me up in the daytime when I want to control the light more.Lighting

They really don't need nothing fancy to do this. Even a regular light bulb and stretched thin white shower curtain over a frame of some sort would work as a soft box.
