This photograph was taken at my home in my darkened bedroom, with a small lamp with a shade on it. It took quite a few attempts to get the right lighting just right to my liking, I wanted it to just light up my face and the white Mardi Gras beads.Time
I took this picture at night so I would not have any other light coming into the bedroom.Lighting
I chose a small bedside lamp with a shade that I could adjust it as I needed as my lighting source. I had to move the shade several times to get the proper lighting for this photo.Equipment
I used my Sony SLT-A57. My setting were as follows: aperture- f/1.8, shutter speed- 1/60, focal length- 50/1. I set up my tripod, the night light, and a black screen for my background.Inspiration
I had been looking at different boudoir shoots by different photographers and I wondered if I could do my own shoot. It was a lot of work to get all of the different shots that I did, but with endurance, I think I succeeded.Editing
Yes I did. I used a program called In Pixio Photo Clip 7 to add the fence like overlay on the picture. I tried several overlays abu kept coming back to the one on the photograph and named it "Fenced In:.In my camera bag
Besides my new camera a Nikon D5500, I keep three (3) different lens with me, I have a Nikon DX 18-140, a Nikon DX 55-300, and the third one being a Digital Concepts high definition 2.2x58 MM, a tripod, filters, my self photo clicker, extra batteries, an external flash, and cleaning equipment.Feedback
My advice for trying to take your own boudoir photo is to be very patient, no matter how many shots or how long it takes to get that perfect photograph.
