I had only my BlackBerry Passport mobile phone with me. It was coming back after a long Beach walk and I didn't have my DSLR with me, so sometimes the best camera is the one you have!Inspiration
I had always taken evening walks along the beach with my then girlfriend. The sunsets have always been beautiful, however this time in particular the colours were so very contrasting and deep.Editing
I did a bit of smoothing out some of the noise using Paint Shop Photo Pro.In my camera bag
Right now I have a Canon 5D mk IV. I have a Canon EF 24-70 F2.8 ii L, a Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS ii L, a Canon EF 85 F1.8. I also have a Canon Speedlight 600EX-RT-II, a Metz 64 Speedlight, as well as 4 Yongnuo remote triggers / transceivers.Feedback
Know your gear, know the basics of the exposure triangle and always have fresh batteries. I now have two photos awarded that were taken with a cell phone, so the best image is the one captured and not missed. Take your time to compose and expose your shots correctly and look for great vantage points. Shoot in RAW if available on your device so you can pull out detail in areas over or under exposed a few stops. Use a tripod in low light! Sometimes you just have to keep returning to the same spot often to catch just the right moment. Keep a camera nearby and get outdoors often.
