i don't use any flash when in macro setting plus the sunshine was bright enough,Equipment
My camera is a Nikon L810, I do not use its tripod or any changeable macro lense because the lens in built in. All I use is the cameras built in macro setting.Inspiration
My favorite shot has always been a good macro, I usually spot bugs and things in the long grass but this one was sat perfectly on a flower in the gate way of the farm.Editing

I don't usually carry alot when I do go out, just alot of spare batteries. lense cloth and some cleaning spray.Feedback
If you want to try macro for the first time get something small, I started using a Canon A2200. it was perfect for close up shots.
