Behind The Lens
Location
Notre Dame Basilica in Montreal.Time
Late morning to early afternoon.Lighting
The lighting is always on the darkish side since it's inside the Basilica.Equipment
Canon Rebel T3i with a 18-200mm lens. No tripod (not sure they're allowed inside) or flash, so had to use a high ISO.Inspiration
I love the symmetry, shapes, and colors - a beautiful place to visit!Editing
Just some cropping and a few adjustments in Lightroom. In my camera bag
A couple of lenses (Canon 18-200 f3.5-5.6 and Rokinon 14 f2.8 mostly), a selection of filters (polarizing, neutral density, and UV), thanks to a recent experience I now also have a dust blower and lens cleaner with me at all times... and also just added a TriggerTrap, which is a lot of fun. I think I may need a bigger bag soon.Feedback
To get a symmetrical image, you have to make sure you are in the correct position. If you can't get right in the middle, and frame it symmetrically, then go for something completely non-symmetrical. This is also a low-light image, so bump up the ISO if you can't use a tripod - obviously using a tripod is ideal to cut down on noise with high ISOs but they're not always allowed or you just may not have one with you.
