Nina, I absolutely love that door and the way you have presented it! You have managed to make those snake plants look as if they are writhing and dancing in their clay pots! Perfect light and saturation!! WELL done!

I love the angle in which you shot this, not the straight on shot I probably would have done! Lovely image:)

This is great, Nina. There's no doubt that it's in a Mediterranean location.

Location
This photo was taken in a hilltop town somewhere in Tuscany several years ago.Time
It was about noon on a bright, sunny day in Italy....Lighting
I actually didn't give much thought to the lighting when taking this photo because I was more interested in just "snapping" the picture. However, as you can see from the lack of shadows that the sun was high in the sky allowing for less contrast, which in the end made the photo of this bright red door that much more appealing.Equipment
This photo was taken handheld using an old Kodak P712 zoom camera. It was my introduction to digital cameras!Inspiration
I became so intrigued with all the beautiful old doors while traveling throughout Italy when I realized that every single one was different. But this red one was my favorite!Editing
Since this photo was taken on an introductory level digital camera, there wasn't a lot of sophisticated dials or modes. I found it necessary to do some post-processing in Lightroom and Photoshop to improve on the clarity and overall mood of the picture. In my camera bag
Since this photo was taken, I have taken giant leaps forward in my photography and now shoot with a Nikon D750 DSLR. I usually use my Nikkor 28-300mm zoom lens, which I find very versatile, especially while traveling. I also have a macro lens, a Nikkor 24-120mm, and a Nikkor 150-600mm zoom lens. I also always have 2 64gb memory cards in my camera with a spare 32 gb card in my bag. In addition, I always carry the following: a fully charged spare battery and battery charger, UV and polarizing filters for all lenses, a Tiffen variable ND filter, the Cokin filter system, a lightweight carbon fiber tripod with a remote release, and cleaning supplies.Feedback
While traveling I find that exploring small towns and villages on foot affords a photographer a better chance of capturing different and unexpected things, and not just the iconic landmarks. And the hilltop towns of Tuscany seem to be made to order for this type of adventure.
