Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken along a stretch of track for the Conway Scenic Railroad. If you look in the distance you can actually see the train rolling down the track.

Time

This would have been sometime in the late afternoon, exact time I don't recall, it was years ago.

Lighting

Natural lighting, I usually try to shoot with the sun behind me.

Equipment

Just handheld. Had just bought a used D70 off my brother for $300 and was spending some time getting to know it. I believe I had a Sigma 70-300 telephoto lens on for this shot.

Inspiration

I wanted to get a shot of the tracks disappearing into the distance, then the train went by and I liked that shot better.

Editing

No post editing on this one.

In my camera bag

Then, just the D70 and the telephoto lens. Now I have some color filters, tripod, remote, macro lens, wide angle lens, and a D3400.

Feedback

Get out there, take lots of pictures. Not all of them will make it but if you don't get out there you won't get any shots. It's digital so it's not like we're spending all the money developing film, have fun with it!
