On 9-3-10 Hurricane Ivan passed over Long Island, NY. It was the first of 3 hurricanes to hit the south shore over the next few years. Thankfully there was no major damage from Ivan. There were more people on the beach watching the waves and the sunset then on a normal beach day. There was a light drizzle but no one seemed to mind. It produced one of the most intense red sky I have ever seen. At one point the roofs of the buildings looked like they were on fire. The only change I made to this photo was to crop it. It was taken with a Panasonic point and shoot.
