Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in Melbourne in ACDC Lane early this year while walking around photographing Melbourne's Street Art areas.

Time

The image was shoot at 12.41 pm.

Lighting

Taken at Midday with natural light conditions no other lighting was needed and being in a Lane way there was no harsh light to deal with. This way I was able to capture the true essence of the (Street Art) Graffiti. The Camera was set on Manual Mode, Shutter Speed 1/1000, Aperture f4.00, ISO 640, Spot Metering and Focal Length 24mm

Equipment

I used a Canon EOS 6D with a Canon EF 24mm-70mm f2.8 L USM lens hand held.

Inspiration

I loved the look of this Graffiti it actually depicted how society has evolved and how busy we are now that Graffiti is just part of society The skeleton is going in one direction on his bike and the pedestrian is just oblivious about his surroundings because he is on his mobile phone texting.

Editing

Post- processing was done in Lightroom 5. I added some clarity and vibrance

In my camera bag

My favorite Camera Canon 6D and Canon lens 24-70mm f2.8, spare batteries & SD cards, my Canon Speedlite and rechargeable batteries, Canon 100mm f2.8 Macro lens & Canon 50mm f1.8 lens. I try to keep the bag that I take when I am shooting Street Art or Abandoned Buildings to a minimum so it is easy to carry.

Feedback

Look at the piece of Art you are about to shoot compose yourself keeping a steady hand or use a tripod which will reduce the camera shake a give you a clearer image. Also use a Wide Angel lens so that you are able to capture the whole piece of Street Art or Graffiti because the Lanes are narrow and there is not very much room to maneuver. The next lens I will be purchasing will bne the lowest Wide angle lens available.Happy shooting..
