Photo was taken off shore 15 kms off Kaikoura, New Zealand on 21 OCT 2102 09:42 Sea grey high cloud no rainTime
Late morning on a relatively still sea with a mixed group of the unusual seabird subjects around the boat. Great place to go off Kaikoura Albatross encounters are excellent.Lighting
Grey overcast day.. actually strong muted light High clouds... Light winds but a good ocean swell which always make watching the bird, staying focus, zooming, and not falling over the side a bit of a challenge at timesEquipment

I enjoy being at sea (lucky I don't get sea sick) watching various seabirds, the seasonal changes and odd vagrant that pops over Every trip is different We nearly ran in to a Sperm Whale once !!!!Editing
I have cropped this photo but that is all .... I am learning more about PS & LR... so future picture may have more adjustment. I believe a good picture starts as a good picture. View bug feed back assisted me settling my themes and inspiring me to learn more of others work i.e. Macro and landscapes in particularIn my camera bag
I try to go pretty spartan as the less there to to worry about and slide about the cabin or deck.... so 70-200mm f4 Nikon Lens and 12-28mm f 2.8 Tokina are what I use. Lens cloth and lots of clean fresh water are essential at sea.Feedback
There is always something great to see on the Ocean. Get get seabirds shots you need to get to them.....at times. rough seas make it easier for them to Fly via the Dynamic soaring. This does make it brought on the humans I use the same area and agency to take me out I only wish I have more time to take more trips Kind regards Rob Lawrence and thanks to the staff
