Well done! I think if you reduce shadow, increase contrast and reduce brightness about 15%. The phototure will be much better. Sorry if my comment offended you.

Location
I happened upon this pond during the day time in Memphis, Michigan early in the spring. I went back out there a couple of months later to try and get some stars and was delighted to get the Milky Way in the shot as well. Many years ago this beautiful place used to be a rock quarry and after it ended they filled the Quarry up and made this lake.Time
I started around 11 pm and waited till the Milky Way was in a good spot. So after about 3 hours it was show time.Lighting
There wasn't any thing special here. Mainly a pitch black night with countless stars and a faintly lit moon setting behind the trees.Equipment
For this photo I used my Canon 60d. Since it was a 30 second exposure I also used my tripod to stabilize the camera for the shot.Inspiration
I've been doing might photography for about 5 years now and I'm still learning new tricks and tips every time out. I've been fascinated with the Milky Way and how it can transform bland night skies into marvelous works of art.Editing
For the post processing I used Lightroom 5 to separate the sky and foreground to set the lighting and colors to my liking. I sharpened the photo to bring out some of the lost detail and reduced the shadows to add additional detail into the dark areas bIn my camera bag
I normally just bring my camera, tripod, zoom lens, and wide angle lens.Feedback
Just scout the area in the day to see the entire area. Research the area as well and try to find hidden gems. Don't be disappointed after the first try as you should always keep trying and learning.
