Located in California's beautiful eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains, Inyo National Forest offers clean air, crystal blue skies, mountain lakes and streams, challenging trails, high mountain peaks and unparalleled views. Lundy Canyon is a 10.8 mile out and back trail located near Lee Vining, California and is only recommended for very experienced outdoorsmen. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible from July until October. We were only intending to see as many waterfalls as we could on a day hike, we ended up walking about 4.5 miles round trip. We did this hike on a June 21st weekend in 2015, it seemed like we were at the peak of the snowmelt. Gorgeous alpine scenery included this cold clear water pond with perfect reflections – the subject of my favorite un-edited photo from this hike.
