This is an outstanding photo! Looks terrific in black and white and the fish eye effect really shows off the majesty of the tower.

Beautiful image, though it's wrought iron, not steel!

Behind The Lens

Location

I took it under the Eiffel tower by night in August.

Time

I took this picture during a night walk , I used a small tripod, I capture the moment. It was about half past ten during the night.

Lighting

I wanted to catch the beauty of the lightning on Eiffel tower but also to point out the structure of the building. Therefore I used long time exposition.

Equipment

Canon Eos 600D, 8 mmm F3,5 samyang. Portable tripod. No flash

Inspiration

I Had seen during my life Hundreds of pictures of Eiffel tower and I wanted to create a new one from another point of view, trying to show it in its wholness from the bottom and from a hand at the same time. This was possible by using a "fish eye".

Editing

I started from a row file and used littlle variations in clarity and contrast.

In my camera bag

Canon 1Dmark II, Canon 700D samyang 8 mm/14mm/85mm, canon 50mmF18, Tamaron 2875F28. Sigma 70300F3.5. Tripod .

Feedback

Using a full frame , a fish eye and always a tripod, If you are not overwhelming, lens flare can be used for creative compositions.
