Certain twigs and branches in our yew have interesting sunlight, and are regularly patrolled by ants. Sometimes I put something edible in their way, like this piece of pasta. For some time they'll be too busy to wander elsewhere.
This is an old campers' trick: arrange an interesting spot for the ants somewhere else, and you won't have them in your tent!
