Behind The Lens

Location

This is the view from the Forth road bridge towards the Forth rail bridge, Scotland. PS: I learnt that day not to park my car under the bridge, the police came to find me. Initially I thought I was in trouble as I park on the curb but they quickly informed me that it's okay but don't do that in the future park up the road as they thought I was a jumper. Wow!

Time

This was my 1st attempt at capturing a sunrise at this bridge. This was literally sunrise, you can see the sun peaking through the clouds on the horizon.

Lighting

Having the clouds in the upper atmosphere helps a lot to make it a warmth atmosphere. Any clouds on the horizon can kill the sun light getting through, I have had that happen to me on a solstice at St.Abbs lighthouse. The only time ion the year you get a shot of the sun straight across the light house and stairs and the clouds spoilt it. I had to quickly race to a another location to get a sunrise shots but it was worth the change. Nothing special other than that.

Equipment

Tripod was a must to keep it stable. Canon EOS-1D Mark III, I can't remember what lens I used tbh.

Inspiration

For years I wanted to go get a nice sunrise photo and I was spoilt to get this as my 1st attempt and I have been back since with great results.

Editing

Not a lot tbh, a slight tweak maybe of cleaning up the foreground.

In my camera bag

I now have a Canon 5D MkIV and 2 lenses (25-105 L IS, 16-35L IS) and my Lee filters.

Feedback

Get up early and get out there.
