This photograph of my friend Donna won the View Bug 2020 Choice Award.
I've known Donna, who was born in 2011, and her mother, Tina, who was born in 2009. Donna is especially friendly and lets me hand feed her, and even tug on her ears. Even though they're friendly, and know their names, they remain wild animals.

For this photograph I used my simple Nikon CoolPix L31.Inspiration
I always took photos of Donna and her mother, Tina, and her brother Victor. Donna had her mouth open so I could put a carrot into it. When I looked at the photograph after I uploaded it to my computer I thought it looked like she was laughing, hence the title, Donna Laughing.Editing
Yes, I used various filters to clean up the photo and give it a look that I like. I mix and match filters but never remember what I actually did because it's different for each photo.In my camera bag

I get really good deer close-ups by gaining their trust with a little help from corn and apples. Donna was brought to my house when she was a fawn in 2011 as part of a deer family that I started interacting with the summer of 2008 with a deer I named Rosie, and her fawn, Clare. I was always in Donna's life starting a few days after she was born. She saw that her mother, Tina, interacted closely with me, so Donna trusted me completely and I could pet and hug her. It's really an honor when wild animals chose to be with you and have no fear that you'll harm them.
