Location
The photograph was taken early one Sunday morning whilst walking my dogs in a nearby cemetery.Time
From memory at about 9.30 am one Sunday Morning, it was very cold and there had been a hard frost overnight, making the grass white and the air clear except for an eerie mist that appeared as the sun rose over the hill beyond the cemetery.Lighting
I wanted the strong backlight to throw the foreground graves into silhouette, whilst emphasizing the suns rays that were streaming through the trees above clearly enhanced by the mist in the background.Equipment
I normally use a Nikon DSLR, but on this occasion only had a small Fuji Compact camera. The shot was hand held.Inspiration
I was simply in the right place at the right time when the lighting an atmosphere were at their best, it was crying out to be photographed.Editing
Very little post processing, conversion to B&W in Photoshop and some minor 'tweeks' in brightness and contrast, and a little cropping. In my camera bag
Normally carried at that time a Nikon D700 with 24- 70 mm Nikon f2.8, a Sigma 12-24 mm W/A, a Nikon f2.8 80-200 mm zoom lens, and a Nikon 85 mm f1.8 lens, Nikon D200 Flashgun, Filters, Polarizer, Neutral Density, and an old but sturdy Slik tripod.Feedback
The only advice I can give is to always be aware of the possibilities offered to photographers at different times of the day, the best photographs are normally taken very early or late in the day, sometimes you just get lucky.
