Behind The Lens

Location
This photo was taken in the Maasai Mara, in the look out area of the main reserve
Time
We traveled for about two hours to find the mother and her six cubs this was taken at around 7 am 30/8/2014
Lighting
Light was quite flat on the morning we found them, taking into account i was in a vehicle with other people, i shot this with as high shutter speed as i could get without to much noise being created,
Equipment
Canon EOS 1DMKIV MKII 600mmm lens@ 1/1000 @ f4 @ 1600 ISO
Inspiration
A very rare sight six cubs in a row and twelve eyes visible
Editing
Yes i did not much, just enough to lift the image, when shooting in raw there's always a little processing to do. Please note that the version here is a low res version, for obvious reasons
In my camera bag
2 x Canon1 DXMKII Canon 1D MKIV(Infra-red convertion): Canon 7D MKII: Canon 200-400 zoom with 1.4 extender: Canon 600mm MKII: Canon 70-200mm f2.8 canon 400mm f2.8: Canon 16-35 f2.8: Canon 24-104 f4: Canon 1.4 MKIII extender. Bean bag: gitzo tripod & monopod : unique ball ; various lee filters
Feedback
Get out and be patient, it doesn't happen all at once you have to work for it! learn from others along the way Good luck
