Location
This photo was created from 30 images taken on the roof of Fifth Avenue Place in Pittsburgh, PennsylvaniaTime
The series of images collected in the panoramic stitch were taken at 7:08amLighting
The lighting was all courtesy of Mother Nature. Shooting into the sun was challenging, especially with the buildings in the foreground needing to be exposed properly. Even though there were 30 images used to stitch together the panorama, they are all the same exposure. I can thank the wonderful EV range on my D800 for making it all work.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D800, a Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 lens at 35mm, and a Smith Victor CF tripod with a Manfrotto 486MG ball head.Inspiration
Most definitely the view. It was my first time on this rooftop and the unique perspective on the city was awe inspiring.Editing
The images were processes in Adobe Lightroom 6.0, stitched in PTGui 10 Pro, and finished in Adobe Photoshop. In my camera bag
Oh, goodness. My bag usually contains the following: Nikon D800, Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8, Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8, Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII, Nikon 105mm f/2.8 Micro, extra batteries, Lexar Professional CF cards, a ND10 Neutral Density Filter, a circular polarizing filter, a JYC intervalometer release, a handful of Zeiss lens wipes and a Giotto rocket blower.Feedback
Be nice, don't be afraid to ask (to get access to a rooftop view), stay focused (no pun intended), and enjoy the experience!
