Shot during a doors off helicopter flight along the Kohala Sea Cliffs on the big island of Hawaii.
Normally I would shoot landscapes with a higher f-stop for more depth of field and a lower ISO for less noise and better colors. However this was far from a “normal” landscape and I knew this was a rare opportunity and I wanted to lessen the chances of motion blur from shooting out the open door of a helicopter on a windy day so I chose to keep my shutter speeds high, by using lower f-stops, f4 to f5, as opposed to raising my ISO. None of these images were shot above ISO 800 due to my concerns about excess noise and less vibrant colors. If I get the chance to do it again I would raise my ISO higher to allow shooting with higher f-stops, while keeping my shutter speeds high.

Thanks Bruz! Ya know I've never noticed that before but you're right, it does look like a sharks fin.

Despite the challenges in shooting these, you captured them beautifully!
I've enjoyed your gallery immensely!

Thanks again Nina! I thoroughly enjoyed your gallery as well , but have only "scratched the surface" of it so far.
