About this moment. This moment was taken on the beautiful part of Lake Michigan. It is one of many beaches that has such a beautiful view in a summer sunrise. The golden moment had just passed. Plus this moment made me stop. Since I was on my way to work.Time
The time is a little hard to tell. It was an early morning sunrise on a hot clear summer day of June or July. I would say. It was an hour after sunrise.Lighting
There is a lot that I can share about this moment. It is one of many favorites that I have on my page. If I could frame it. Which I will after this comment. I will frame just to have. About this light. It was unusual. How so? The moment is on a hill. As I was walking on to the hill I started to see the sun unveil. It was orange and my eyes where just amazed. The light was perfect since it was calm and just a slight wind. The perfect shadow. It was like a dream come true. The person that you see. Is a nurse at North Western University. It was the perfect moment that her shadow was making me believe that she was a mermaid. That is what light and shadow I was shooting for. No flash. Just plain quick draw of the camera.Equipment
The camera that I used was Nikon 7200. The lens is a simple one: 28-50mm standard kit. No tripod or flash was used. Plus one filter. ND. This filter made the moment orange-gold.Inspiration
The inspiration was that the shadow of the person reminded me of a mermaid. The bicycle, sun, lake and the moment it was a study moment for a test. It was jus perfect...Editing
I did do little post processing. I added a little temperature, orange, yellow, detail, dark, easy on the shadows, plus made sure it was about twenty five percent on detail. To do the exact math I just looked at moment and just imagine the orange as it was then. That is all.In my camera bag
My equipment that I still carry on my bag is. A 28-50mm nikon lens A 70-300mm tamron lens An Opteka 6.5mm. A 2x teleconverter tamron Filters ND, FL, PL. Not to heavy.Feedback
The advice that I would give. Always keep your camera ready night prior to shooting. Remember to keep your settings according and simple to the moment that you are waking up to. The sunrise, sunset or even noon can be a bit tricky to manipulate if you do not have the settings prior to capturing a moment. Plus always keep your sensor and inside of camera dust free. Regardless of day or night it will help to keep the camera clean. So there is no unwanted dark spots due to dust or just plain water from rain can spoil a moment. If you need to capture this moment. Remember the golden hour it helps.
