Location
I shot this photo from Memorial Drive in Cambridge.Time
It was just after dark on a very cold April night.Lighting
There was no moon and no stars in the sky. There was also no wind, which made for great reflection on the Charles River.Equipment
Nikon D70, don't remember which lens, tripod, no flash.Inspiration
I had always wanted to try night photography, and Boston is a great place to shoot, day OR night.Editing
I tweaked the levels very slightly, but otherwise, no post processing. In my camera bag
My Nikon (I carry a D300 these days, a Nikon 28-300 mm lens, and a Tamron 17-50 lens.Feedback
Find a spot that looks good, set up your equipment, and go for it. Don't be afraid to play with different shutter speeds. Women, if you are shooting at night, take a friend along for safety. I was hassled by someone wanting money, who made a big deal over my "expensive camera equipment" before my husband drove him off.
