I tried for several days to get the right combination of snow and light on the iconic mountains, yet the light on this morning lasted less than a minute. Luckily the water was calm enough for the reflection as well.

There were clouds in the east that hampered any sunlight from reaching the peaks, except for just a few moments when this shot was takenEquipment
Nikon D800, Nikor 17-35mm f/2.8, circular polarizer, 2-stop Smooth Step ND GradInspiration
Really wanted a dusting on the peaks for the photo, but the previous days didn't provide any, or any decent light, and after three days finally gave up and moved on to the next destination of the trip. But the final day was raining, and although a hundred miles away, returned during the overnight in some snowfall, to give it one more chance. Stayed in the parking lot there the rest of the night, and woke to find a dusting on the peak as I'd hoped for. But the light was flat. Finally, the peak caught a little sunlight for just a moment, and since I had already determined that the 35mm end of the lens was what maintained the power of the peaks, rather than the 17mm end which made the peaks diminutive, I knew right away to use that focal length when the moment arose, and rattled off several images of differing exposure to make sure I got what I wanted.Editing
Yes, all done in Lightroom to recreate what was happening at the moment. Nothing approaching any "rocket science".In my camera bag
Nikon D800, Nikon 17-35mm f/2.8, Nikon 50mm f/1.8 (for the f/22 aperture), Nikon AF-P70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E VR, wireless remote, Circular Polarizers for the three lenses, 2-stop Hard and Soft Step ND Filter and associated holders and step-up rings, spare battery and spare memory cards, bungee cord for holding branches out of the way, and set of close-up filters.Feedback
Patience is usually rewarded... but not always, there is some luck involved!
